(Keep in my mind as you read my writing may seem different, I hope it isn't worse and I trust that if it is you would tell me as most of you are friends or family and if you don't tell me..well goodness this is a fresh start to a sucky day. When I say different I mean it has simply evolved as I have stayed away from this blog for a year as its position in my life has slowly become much of a burden and way more of a drag.)

What came first, the music or the misery? A question the very simple question that the audience will dwell on for the remainder of the film as one watches a melodramatic somewhat toxic John Cusack file through his various past relationships. While partially crying, half screaming and walking around Chicago you may get a glimpse of a place you recognize. High fidelity is one of those movies that if you have been in Chicago your entire life you will easily recognize absolutely every single scene, it becomes fluid to point and go “Ah Ah!! Look Look it's wicker park, look at that, thats where Dimos ( an amazing pizza place) is and where reckless ( very famous record store) is, oh my gosh I need to go to wicker park now!!” and if you're mum is anything like mine she will then go on a tangent about all of her memories of wicker park even if it is 5 minutes from your front door. Maybe I just like the movie for Jack Black, I mean it's not true but partially true if I must be honest. I mean who doesn't love jack black as he is simply the epitome of fun as he radiates epic tenacious d dork energy from a mile away. On the other hand like most movies I could just love it for its soundtrack which includes the most Cusacky group of songs ( Cusack is infamous for creating the soundtracks for his movies) the mix of Jack Black and Cusack is a mesh that no one would guess would come together so..perfectly?.. I myself like Rod, the main character of our story happen to be what is considered a hopeless romantic, dwelling on past relationships and recalling them in fond notes of nostalgia, but in this case it would be simply the opposite as the movie consists of a terrible past and what could be considered a crumbling present. John Cusack is a funny man in my opinion as he talks fairly funny, his voice makes me laugh in all honesty even if he is acting the ends of earth. I mean I would say if I met John I would probably nervous giggle, less of a humorous type of giggle and rather one with an underlying tone of I have a crush on you but not you now, you when you acted in late 90s to early 2000s films with Minnie driver and Jack Black…(!!!!) I may have simply watched this movie because I saw John in Cans surrounded by hundreds of records and it grabbed my attention. I quite frankly have no clue why I am writing this now as High Fidelity couldn't have been my breaking point, my inevitable point of return. I watched the film on my own as I was hardly convinced to do anything else at the moment, in all honesty I probably should have been doing what I found so easy to ignore. I watched the movie in one fluid moment or what felt like a moment, in what seemed like half an hour I had already met all of Rod’s past girlfriends, future lovers, coworkers, his girlfriends friends ( HIS SISTER!! It wouldn't be a John Cusack movie without Joan!). I think when movies involve a record shop I am just immediately drawn to them and this is no lie as I can name a few off the top of my head ( though I won't as I plan on writing about them super soon). Maybe I just wanted to ramble on about this movie, at this point it is obvious that that's all I hoped to accomplish from this return. I did not expect to write this much, I wanted a soft simple return with one of my favorite movies as the headliner.

Well now you have suffered through my scattered thoughts and I leave you with one question, what came first, the music or the misery? Did I listen to Pop Music because I was miserable or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?

( I know this is not the best thing I have ever wrote and quite frankly I don't really care, it was fun! I look forward to writing again even if it happens to be foolish thoughts like this, at least they hold some sort of rhythm.

Along with my return I added more music to the playlist and I plan on doing a few more things soon to make everything more magical!)

(Also if you are still not fully convinced to watch this movie ( even if what I wrote wasn't really meant for convincing) watch this scene. :)) https://youtu.be/lRo5whzDg08 )

Go get em' tiger! :))
